What I’m Reading
I just finished reading this rad book, Small Feet, Big Land by Erin McKittrick. She and her husband, Hig, walked and paddled from Seattle to the Aleutian Islands. (WHOA). Then they settled in a yurt in a small town in Alaska and had two babies. This is her second book which chronicles their adventures in glacial expeditions with a toddler and infant in tow as well as discussions about climate change and homesteading in Alaska. They are all kinds of badass and inspire me that Jeremy and I can continue to have adventures at a high level after we start a family. They also have a climate change education non-profit called Ground Truth Trekking.
Also, I recently met them and they’re just as passionate, kind and whippet smart (she has a masters in molecular bio and he a PhD in geology) as they come across in the book. Inspiring adventurers!
I highly recommend this book.
